Cheick Diallo went from living in his home in a rural area west of Mali to play in the NBA, the best basketball league in the world. As a child, the other kids laughed at him because he was too tall for soccer. His father pushed him to try basketball, and five years later he ended up landing in New York without a return ticket. The road was not easy: adaptation, language, culture. But Cheick overcame the barriers in an incredible journey that has finally led him to be the second Malian to debut in the NBA. Now, in his second year, he wants to prove in New Orleans Pelicans that he has come to stay.
